Dr. Guerriero graduated with honors from Queens College (CUNY). He received his medical degree in 1983 from Downstate Medical Center. He has extensive clinical and surgical experience from the world renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary where he received his Residency training in Ophthalmology.
As a third year resident, he won the prestigious Louis Girard Award which is given to the graduating senior who has made a significant contribution to Ophthalmic research. In 1989 Dr. Guerriero continued his specialty training in Atlanta, Georgia in the field of Retina, training under Dr.'s Bill Hagler and William Jarrett. Upon finishing this training Dr. Guerriero started clinical vitreoretinal practices in the tri-state area. Dr. Guerriero is licensed in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists.
With a seventeen year history in private practice, his experience in Medical and Surgical Retina is extensive. He is affiliated with Manhattan Eye & Ear and also Long Island College Hospital.
His major professional interests are in the areas of Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy. He has exceptional clinical skills and is using the newest proven treatments for macular degeneration. He is up-to-date on all the newest research and treatment protocols in the rapidly advancing field of macular disease. He is a kind-hearted individual who is sensitive to the special needs of retinal patients. Dr. Guerriero is dedicated to providing the highest level of medical care to all of his patients.
